Bell Ringing
Bell Ringers practise every Wednesday evening between 7.30 and 9.00 pm. They always welcome anyone who wishes to learn from scratch or those who want to return to bell ringing after a break.
There are six good bells in the tower at Spetisbury and they are rung from the ground floor, so you do not have to climb a narrow spiral staircase as you have to do in some churches . We normally ring with those who are available on Sunday mornings or at weddings in the church if asked to do so. Some of the bell ringers go to other churches and can take those who like to get around a bit, meet new people and see other beautiful church buildings.
YOU WILL BE WELCOMED IF YOU WISH TO JOIN US

Spetisbury and Charlton Marshall Twinning Association
The Spetisbury and Charlton Marshall/Le Vast Twinning Association was formed in the late 1980s and is still going strong. Le Vast is a pretty little village on the banks of the Saire River, about 25 minutes' drive from Cherbourg. We take turns to visit each other every year for a weekend when we will stay with our hosts and be entertained by them. In 2018 the French came to Spetisbury and it was our turn to accommodate and entertain them.
Over the years strong friendships have formed between families and people often visit one another outside of the organised twinning weekends. There is absolutely no need to speak any French! Several of our French twins speak some English but it is surprising how much can be conveyed in 'Franglais' and sign language, especially after a glass or two of wine!
We always welcome new members and would especially encourage families with young children to join us. The annual subscription is £10 per adult with school-age children free.
